How It Works
Formula
end time = clock-in + 8 hours + break, or hours worked = (clock-out - clock-in - break) / 60When no clock-out is given, the tool adds 480 minutes of work time plus the break minutes to the clock-in time. For overnight shifts, it wraps past midnight using 24-hour math. When both clock-in and clock-out are given, it subtracts the earlier from the later, then subtracts breaks, giving the actual work time.

Common mistakes
- Forgetting to include break time when calculating an end time. An 8-hour shift with a 30-minute break means you are on site for 8.5 hours.
- Using 12-hour format without AM/PM context. The time input uses a 24-hour picker.
- Entering break time in hours instead of minutes. 30 minutes is 30, not 0.5.
