CalcTide is built as a utility-first website. You can use the calculators, converters, and guides without creating an account, and most pages are designed to work without asking you to submit personal profile information. This policy explains what information may be collected when you use the site, what is not stored by default, and what happens if you contact us directly.
The short version is this. We do not require a user account to run the calculators. Calculator inputs are generally meant to be processed on the page rather than stored as a long-term personal record on our servers. At the same time, like almost any modern website, the site still relies on hosting infrastructure, standard web requests, and analytics tooling that can generate technical data about visits. Those realities matter, so this page describes them plainly.
This policy applies to pages published on the CalcTide domain, including calculator pages, category hubs, guides, and static pages such as About, Terms, and Contact. It covers information collected through ordinary site use and information you choose to send to us directly by email.
This policy does not override the privacy practices of third-party services you reach after leaving our site. If a page links to an outside source, that source has its own terms and privacy rules. We encourage you to review them when the destination matters to your decision.
You can browse most of CalcTide without sending us a message. If you choose to contact us, we will receive the information included in your email. That may include your email address, your name if it appears in your email profile, the content of your message, attachments, and any other information you voluntarily send.
We use that information to review bug reports, editorial corrections, privacy questions, accessibility issues, and tool suggestions. If your message raises a correctness or safety issue, we may keep the relevant details long enough to investigate the report, fix the problem, and maintain an internal record of what changed. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is truly necessary to explain the issue. In most cases, you can reproduce a calculator concern with redacted or sample values.
When you load a page, standard web infrastructure may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, requested URL, referrer, and basic timing or status information. This kind of data is commonly processed to deliver the site, protect it from abuse, diagnose failures, and understand whether pages are loading correctly.
Some of this information may be handled by our hosting and delivery providers as part of ordinary website operations. We do not treat that as a reason to collect more personal information than the site needs. It does mean that a privacy description limited to "we do not ask for accounts" would be incomplete. Standard server and network activity is still part of operating a public website.
The calculators are designed for on-page use. In normal use, the numbers you type into a calculator are meant to produce an immediate result in your browser. Unless a specific feature clearly says otherwise, CalcTide does not present those inputs as a saved account history, a personal dashboard, or a stored profile tied to you.
That design choice matters because many calculators involve private or sensitive topics such as income, retirement savings, body metrics, medical lab values, project budgets, or family dates. We want people to be able to use a planning tool without first handing over account credentials or building a persistent profile. If that product behavior changes on a future page, the page and this policy should say so clearly rather than implying that nothing changed.
CalcTide currently loads Google Analytics 4 through a site-wide script to understand traffic patterns and general site usage. Analytics can help answer operational questions such as which pages people visit, how they move between pages, which device types are common, and where performance or content issues may deserve attention.
Analytics data is different from the calculator result itself, but it is still data about site use. Depending on how Google Analytics and the browser operate, that can include page view information, page URL, referrer information, browser and device details, interaction events, and identifiers or cookies used to distinguish visits over time. Those details are processed under Google's infrastructure and policies in addition to ours.
We do not describe analytics as invisible or harmless. It is a tradeoff. The goal is to understand site quality and audience behavior without turning routine calculator use into an account-based tracking system. If you prefer not to have ordinary browser identifiers used for that purpose, your browser settings and Google's own controls may help you limit or clear them.
Like most websites, CalcTide and the services it relies on may use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies. These tools can be used for security, traffic measurement, basic functionality, and remembering browser-level settings. Third-party services such as analytics providers may also rely on their own identifiers.
We do not currently offer user accounts on the site, so there is no account dashboard for managing stored profile data. Your main browser controls remain the cookie, site data, and privacy settings in your browser, along with any third-party controls offered by the service provider involved. Clearing cookies or related storage can reset certain browser-level behaviors and may change how external services recognize a returning visit.
Some page layouts reserve space where advertising could appear in the future. Reserved layout space by itself does not mean live ad code is active on the page. It is there so the layout can remain stable if ads are enabled later.
If live advertising is turned on in the future, the privacy impact may change because ad providers can use cookies or other identifiers to deliver, measure, or limit ads. If that shift happens, this policy should be updated so visitors are not left guessing about which third-party systems are active and what choices are available.
We use information collected through the site for practical operating reasons. Those reasons include delivering pages, protecting the site, diagnosing errors, improving content, understanding which pages are used, reviewing direct feedback, and responding to messages you choose to send us.
We do not need a detailed personal profile to do that work. For that reason, the site is designed around low-friction public access instead of account creation. We also do not sell calculator input data as a product. If you email us, we use the information in that email to deal with the matter you raised.
Information may be processed by service providers that help deliver or support the website, such as hosting, content delivery, analytics, and email providers. Information may also be disclosed if needed to comply with law, protect the site, investigate abuse, or respond to a valid legal process.
We try to keep those disclosures tied to actual operational needs. The fact that a website uses infrastructure providers does not mean it should treat user data casually. It means some processing happens in the course of running the site, and we want that reality to be stated clearly rather than buried in vague language.
We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, such as operating the site, reviewing analytics trends, investigating abuse, or handling a direct support or correction message. Retention periods can vary depending on the type of record and the provider involved.
Because the site does not currently provide user accounts, there is no user-facing profile area where you can log in and review a stored history of calculator sessions. If you email us, that correspondence may remain in our email systems for as long as it is reasonably useful for support, recordkeeping, or follow-up.
You can choose not to contact us. You can use sample or redacted values when reporting an issue. You can clear cookies, block certain scripts, adjust browser privacy settings, or use third-party controls where available. Those steps may affect how some external services measure a visit or remember browser-level preferences.
If you sent us personal information directly by email and want us to review a correction or deletion request related to that message, you can write to us at the address below. We cannot promise that every record can be deleted in every circumstance, especially where security, abuse prevention, or legal obligations require retention, but we can review the request in context.
CalcTide is a general-audience information site. It is not designed as a service for children to create accounts or share personal profiles. If you believe a child has sent us personal information directly, use the contact information below so we can review the situation.
We may update this policy when site behavior changes, when a new service is added, or when a clearer explanation is needed. If a change meaningfully affects what data is collected or how it is used, the written policy should change with it. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision to this text.
