How It Works

days until birthday = next birthday date - todayThe calculator anchors your birth month and day in the current year. If that date is still ahead, it is your next birthday. If it already passed, the calculator moves to the same date next year. The difference in days gives the countdown. Weekdays come from the calendar itself, which repeats in a 400 year cycle, so the day you were born is a fixed fact of your birth date.

Common mistakes
- Counting today as a full day in the countdown. If your birthday is tomorrow, the countdown is 1 day, not 2.
